Lawn Tools - Trimmers and Edgers For Easier Lawn Care
Your lawn mower is obviously the most used tool in your yard, but the trimmer or edger is not far behind. If your lawn meets up against a wall at any point, you can't cut everything with your mower. If you have a patio, you cannot mow everything. Even if you simply have trees in your yard --you cannot mow everything. An edger is the only way under these circumstances that your lawn can be fully groomed.
The basic trimmer has 2 blades an a long wooden handle. They are outdated, but do a very good job. They are good because of their simplicity, needing no gas or power. They are also light. As long as the blades are sharp, you can work quite quickly. The downside is the amount of physical attempt involved. It may not be practical for older habitancy to use, because of itís possible to be tough on ones wrists and back.
Brick Tool
An option that is physically easier to use is an galvanic trimmer. They are relatively inexpensive and cut straight through grass by slicing it with a spinning plastic string. This option is very effective, and can even work in areas that hand-operated edgers won't. Examples of this are situations where grass is up against a shed or nearby large rocks or bricks. The string will cause no damage, but will cut the grass well.
A gas powered edger is another option. It can be good, but it also has some disadvantages in lawn care. They are noisy and heavy, but they have no chord to get in the way. The lack of a chord means you can take them anywhere. This benefit is good if you need to trim far away from any outlets. Gas powered trimmers also have more power, so if you need to work in thick brush, weeds, or debris, they are your best option. They are the most expensive of the three types, but if their advantages are prominent to your needs, it is well worth it.
